The University of Nebraska Medical Center invites nurses interested<\/p>\n

in earning bachelors or masters degrees in nursing, including the family<\/p>\n

nurse practitioner program, to attend free informational sessions in Beatrice,<\/p>\n

Aug. 16. The sessions will discuss ways to earn a degree with greater flexibility<\/p>\n

using the Internet and other distance education tools.<\/p>\n

Informational sessions will be held at Southeast Community College,<\/p>\n

4771 W. Scott Rd. and Beatrice Community Hospital, 1110 N. 10th St. at<\/p>\n

the times and locations listed below.<\/p>\n

2 to 3 p.m. Southeast Community College Adams Hall<\/p>\n


Registered nurse to bachelors degree in nursing or masters degree<\/p>\n

in nursing Room 220<\/p>\n


Family nurse practitioner masters degree program Room 215<\/p>\n

4 to 5 p.m. Beatrice Community Hospital<\/p>\n


Registered nurse to bachelors degree in nursing or masters degree<\/p>\n

in nursing Garden Room<\/p>\n


Family nurse practitioner masters degree program Homestead Room<\/p>\n

Non-nursing courses taken to pursue a bachelor’s degree can be earned<\/p>\n

at any accredited colleges and will apply toward a degree through UNMC.<\/p>\n

Registered nurses don’t need a bachelor’s degree to enroll in the masters<\/p>\n

degree program. Some of UNMC’s nursing courses are accessible through the<\/p>\n

Internet, which offers students the flexibility of learning at home according<\/p>\n

to the students schedule.<\/p>\n

The programs make it more convenient to earn advanced degrees by enabling<\/p>\n

students to complete most of the typical classroom work through a computer.<\/p>\n

This allows students the flexibility to study when its convenient for<\/p>\n

them and greatly reduces travel to campus.<\/p>\n
