<\/FONT><\/B><\/P><\/p>\n

The University of Nebraska Medical Center Board of Counselors has elected
\nnew officers and members. The Board of Counselors, which is comprised of
\nabout 40 civic and business leaders from communities throughout the state,
\nacts as an advisory group to the UNMC chancellor in forming programs to
\naddress the health needs of Nebraska. <\/P><\/p>\n

Members meet three times a year to hear summaries on UNMC activities
\nby key administrators and for presentations by faculty and staff on specific
\nprograms in education, research, patient care and outreach to underserved
\npopulations. New members are appointed to serve four-year terms. <\/P><\/p>\n

New officers are: <\/P><\/p>\n

CRETE — Jacob Dering, pharmacist with Ken’s Sun Mart Pharmacy in Crete,
\nwill serve as chair. He has served as a board member for several years,
\nincluding most recently as vice chair. <\/P><\/p>\n

OMAHA — Sonja McCollister, vice president of Kirkpatrick Pettis in
\nOmaha, will serve as vice chair. She also has served on the board for several
\nyears. <\/P><\/p>\n

New members are: <\/P><\/p>\n

OMAHA — Ed Cochran, president of SITEL’s Insurance Marketing Services.
\nKathleen Jeffries, lifetime resident and community volunteer. <\/P><\/p>\n

BELLEVUE– Yvonne Mathews, manager of contacts and office administration
\nfor the City of Omaha Public Works Department. <\/P><\/p>\n

MINDEN — Peter Jensen, D.D.S., is a dentist in Minden. <\/P><\/p>\n

CRETE — Robert Muckel, Ph.D., professor of biology at Doane College
\nin Crete. <\/P><\/p>\n

KEYSTONE — Kim Soper, coordinator of C.R.E.W. (Careers Readiness Education
\nfor Work.),a school-to-work program in North Platte. <\/P><\/p>\n

SIDNEY — Elizabeth "Ibs" Young, president of KSID-AM\/FM radio
\nin Sidney. <\/P><\/p>\n
