<\/FONT><\/B><\/p>\n

Fifty-five students from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College<\/p>\n

of Pharmacy were named to the dean’s list for the 1999 fall semester. To<\/p>\n

qualify for the dean’s list, students must place in the top 20 percent<\/p>\n

of their class and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or above.<\/p>\n

UNMC’s College of Pharmacy is one of the first colleges in the nation<\/p>\n

to offer the doctorate of pharmacy degree. Currently through a grant, the<\/p>\n

college is reducing distance barriers in Nebraska’s rural areas by making<\/p>\n

available computerized health information networks that link rural pharmacies<\/p>\n

with UNMC’s computerized drug and health information system.<\/p>\n

Through its commitment to research, education and patient care, UNMC has<\/p>\n

established itself as one of the country’s leading centers for cancer research<\/p>\n

and treatment and solid organ transplantation.  More than $34 million<\/p>\n

in research grants and contracts are awarded to UNMC scientists annually. <\/p>\n

In addition, UNMC’s educational programs are responsible for training more<\/p>\n
