"A Healthier Future Starts Here" is the theme for the Cancer
\nAwareness Expo to be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 20, at the
\nUniversity of Nebraska Medical Center. This free event is open to the public
\nand will be held in the UNMC Outpatient Care Center West Atrium, 44th and
\nEmile streets. <\/P><\/p>\n

The event is being hosted by the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center in recognition
\nof National Cancer Awareness Month and the 25th anniversary of the National
\nCancer Act. Attendees will have an opportunity to: <\/P><\/p>\n

Talk with health-care professionals about healthy lifestyles that
\ncan lower their risk of cancer. <\/P><\/p>\n

Tour state-of-the-art patient care and research facilities. <\/P><\/p>\n

Learn about cutting-edge research from scientists who are making cancer
\nbreakthroughs right here in Nebraska. <\/P><\/p>\n

Receive educational materials on cancer at various booths. <\/P><\/p>\n

Register to win prizes. <\/P><\/p>\n

The UNMC Eppley Cancer Center is one of only 10 basic science cancer
\ncenters funded by the National Cancer Institute and is headed by Raymond
\nRuddon, M.D., Ph.D. UNMC Eppley Cancer Center researchers brought in over
\n$15 million in cancer research grants from federal, state and private cancer-focused
