Mall walkers put themselves through the paces in the interest<\/p>\n

of health. Now, there is another mall attraction designed to help<\/p>\n

people stay healthy, courtesy of the University of Nebraska<\/p>\n

Medical Center.<\/p>\n

The UNMC Eppley Cancer Center has installed an interactive,<\/p>\n

touch-screen kiosk at the Oak View Mall, 3001 S. 144th St., to<\/p>\n

bring cancer-related information to the public in a easy-to-use<\/p>\n

format.<\/p>\n

"The kiosk’s most important purpose is outreach and<\/p>\n

education to the public," said Margaret Tempero, M.D.,<\/p>\n

interim director of the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center. "By<\/p>\n

placing this information module in a very public area, we will be<\/p>\n

able to provide ready and easy access to the public for cancer<\/p>\n

information that will range from cancer prevention and detection<\/p>\n

to the availability of treatment options for advanced<\/p>\n

cancer."<\/p>\n

The kiosk is located on the mall’s lower level, near the<\/p>\n

entrance to Younkers. The opening screen gives users the<\/p>\n

opportunity to select information from the following four<\/p>\n

categories: <\/p>\n
