Morbid obesity will be the topic of an Interdisciplinary Grand Rounds<\/p>\n

on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.<\/p>\n

The RWMC family practice residency program, in conjunction with the University<\/p>\n

of Nebraska Medical Centers Colleges of Dentistry and Nursing, are hosting<\/p>\n

the event.<\/p>\n

This grand rounds, titled The Skinny on Obesity, is the fifth in a<\/p>\n

series of Interdisciplinary Grand Rounds. Support for the program is made<\/p>\n

available through the UNMC Rural Health Education Network, Regional Wests<\/p>\n

Education Department and pharmaceutical companies.<\/p>\n

For the Oct. 23 grand rounds, check-in and breakfast will begin at 6:30<\/p>\n

a.m., with the sessions to start at 7 a.m. The grand rounds sessions are<\/p>\n

accredited for continuing education for physicians, physician assistants<\/p>\n

and nurses.<\/p>\n

Presenters will include Ludi Papenfus, M.D., statistics, pathophysiology<\/p>\n

and diagnosis; Terry Himes, M.D., sleep apnea study; Amber Anderson, pharmacy<\/p>\n

student, weight control drugs; and dietician Carolyn Nuss-Warren, wellness\/community<\/p>\n

resources. All presenters will be available for questions.<\/p>\n

Registration deadline for the grand rounds is Friday. Oct. 19. To register<\/p>\n
