The<\/p>\n<p>conference, aimed at nurses and people in nursing management and<\/p>\n<p>educational roles, is sponsored by the Nebraska Health System,<\/p>\n<p>the University Medical Associates and the University of Nebraska<\/p>\n<p>Medical Center College of Nursing. &quot;As health care evolves,<\/p>\n<p>institutions will continue to develop creative strategies to<\/p>\n<p>achieve and maintain excellence,&quot; said Hayley Greve, a nurse<\/p>\n<p>with Nebraska Health System&#8217;s University Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Nurses have a key role in this endeavor. This conference<\/p>\n<p>will present strategies from nurses who are succeeding in meeting<\/p>\n<p>these challenges while promoting essential nursing values.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Conference sessions will focus on<\/p>\n<p>discussions looking at the evolving roles of nursing and how to<\/p>\n<p>achieve nursing excellence and a healthy work environment in the<\/p>\n<p>midst of organizational change.<\/p>\n<p>A keynote address, titled,<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Excellence in Nursing-Achieving Magnet Status,&quot; will<\/p>\n<p>be delivered by Carol Robinson, associate director of hospital,<\/p>\n<p>clinics and patient care services at the University of<\/p>\n<p>California-Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.<\/p>\n<p>Another national speaker will be<\/p>\n<p>Joanne Disch, Ph.D., vice president of patient and family<\/p>\n<p>services, Fairview-University Medical Center in Minneapolis. She<\/p>\n<p>also will deliver a keynote address titled, &quot;Survival:<\/p>\n<p>Healthy Work Environments,&quot; which will discuss what she sees<\/p>\n<p>as the main challenge for the next decade.<\/p>\n<p>Cost of the conference is $65 or<\/p>\n<p>$75 after April 10. It includes handouts, breaks, lunch and six<\/p>\n<p>contact hours for continuing education credit.
