Women are invited to attend the fourth annual Omaha Womens Health and<\/p>\n

Wellness Conference on Friday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holiday<\/p>\n

Inn Convention Center, 72nd & Grover.<\/p>\n

The conference includes: educational sessions about fatigue, alternative<\/p>\n

medicine, the value of sexuality, women and gambling addictions, and a<\/p>\n

panel discussion on hormone replacement therapy, as well as continental<\/p>\n

breakfast and luncheon with keynote speakers. The conference also will<\/p>\n

address the issue of self-care an topic of growing interest in which<\/p>\n

people are educated on when to seek medical advice.<\/p>\n

Health and wellness exhibits are planned, as well as a variety of screenings,<\/p>\n

including thyroid function, glaucoma, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol<\/p>\n

and depression screenings. A physicians assistant and nurse practitioner<\/p>\n

will be available to answer health-related questions. The conference is<\/p>\n

sponsored by the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Olson Center for<\/p>\n

Womens Health, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Wellness Council of<\/p>\n

the Midlands and Nebraska Health System.<\/p>\n

Cost of the conference is $30. Limited scholarships are available for<\/p>\n

women with financial restrictions. Nurses can receive continuing education<\/p>\n

credits for an additional $30. Health screenings will be available for<\/p>\n

cholesterol, blood pressure and glaucoma.<\/p>\n

Breakfast keynote speaker is Anne Marie Aita, Omaha motivational\/humorist<\/p>\n

and the luncheon keynote speaker is Mary Maxwell, Omaha humorist.<\/p>\n
