The University of Nebraska Medical Center will hold informational sessions<\/p>\n

May 4 and 5 in North Platte for registered nurses interested in pursuing<\/p>\n

bachelors or masters degrees in nursing. Carol Pullen, Ed.D., assistant<\/p>\n

dean for rural nursing education and Larry Hewitt, director of student<\/p>\n

services, will be making presentations.<\/p>\n

Registered nurses interested in earning bachelors or masters degrees<\/p>\n

in nursing may attend informational sessions at Great Plains Regional Medical<\/p>\n

Center, 3 East Classroom, (in the hospital) 601 W. Leota St.<\/p>\n

Sessions will be held at the following dates and times:<\/p>\n


May 4 sessions:<\/p>\n

4:30 p.m. Registered nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree<\/p>\n


Registered nurse to Master of Science in Nursing degree<\/p>\n

5:30 p.m. Masters degree to Master of Science in Nursing degree<\/p>\n

6:30 p.m. Registered nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree<\/p>\n


Registered nurse to Master of Science in Nursing degree<\/p>\n

May 5 sessions:<\/p>\n


9:00 a.m. Registered nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing<\/p>\n


Registered nurse to Master of Science in Nursing<\/p>\n

10:00 a.m. Masters degree to Master of Science in Nursing<\/p>\n

11:00 a.m. Registered nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing<\/p>\n


Registered nurse to Master of Science in Nursing<\/p>\n

Non-nursing courses taken to pursue a bachelors degree can be earned<\/p>\n

at any accredited colleges and will apply toward a degree through UNMC.<\/p>\n

Registered nurses dont need a bachelors degree to enroll in the registered<\/p>\n

nurse to Master of Science in Nursing program. Some of UNMCs nursing courses<\/p>\n

are accessible through the Internet, which offers students the flexibility<\/p>\n

of learning at home according to their schedule.<\/p>\n

nursing college in the state with campuses in Omaha, Lincoln, Kearney and<\/p>\n

Scottsbluff. It is the only nursing program in the state offering bachelors,<\/p>\n

masters and doctoral degrees.<\/p>\n

UNMC is the only public academic health science center in the state.<\/p>\n

Through its commitment to research, education and patient care, UNMC has<\/p>\n

established itself as one of the countrys leading centers for cancer research<\/p>\n

and treatment and solid organ transplantation. More than $34 million in<\/p>\n

research grants and contracts are awarded to UNMC scientists annually.<\/p>\n

In addition, UNMCs educational programs are responsible for training more<\/p>\n

health professionals practicing in Nebraska than any other institution.<\/p>\n
