Mark Rupp, M.D., an infectious disease specialist for the University<\/p>\n

of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Health System, has been elected<\/p>\n

as the academic counselor for the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of<\/p>\n

America (SHEA). His two-year term on the SHEA board of directors begins<\/p>\n

next January.<\/p>\n

SHEA is comprised of approximately 1,500 members, representing 41 countries,<\/p>\n

and is dedicated to fostering the development and application of the science<\/p>\n

of Healthcare Epidemiology. Dr. Rupp currently serves on the editorial<\/p>\n

board for the SHEA journal Infection Control and Healthcare Epidemiology<\/p>\n

and the SHEA Annual Meeting Program Committee.<\/p>\n

Last April, Dr. Rupp was the scientific program coordinator for the<\/p>\n

SHEA annual meeting held in Toronto.<\/p>\n
