Special two-hour edition of “Shrink Rap” to air on Sunday evening \n<\/p>\n

“Shrink Rap,” a weekly radio show which provides a forum for adolescents and young adults to anonymously discuss their problems, will feature a special two-hour program this week devoted strictly to the Westroads Mall shootings. \n<\/p>\n

The special program will air from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, on KQCH-FM (94.1). Jim Sorrell, M.D., a psychiatrist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and Damian Montez are co-hosts of the program, which normally runs from 8 to 9 p.m. on Sundays. \n<\/p>\n

“The Westroads incident had a profound impact on the entire community,” said Dr. Sorrell. “We think our program will provide an opportunity for some of the youth in our community to call in and share their thoughts and concerns. It’s just another way we can help our community heal after this terrible tragedy.”
\n“Shrink Rap” will celebrate its third anniversary in February. The show is part of the Journal Broadcast Group’s ongoing effort to develop local programming that makes a difference in the community. \n<\/p>\n

For its service to the community, Shrink Rap has received awards from the Nebraska Broadcasters Association for the past two years.
\nThe show is available via podcast at http:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/podcast\/shrinkrap.htm where there also is an exhaustive list of community resources. \n<\/p>\n
