His tenure as president-elect will commence following the conclusion of the 2009 ASRT Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting, June 11-14, in Albuquerque, N.M.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">As president-elect, Temme will work with ASRT&rsquo;s seven-member board to represent the association&rsquo;s 131,000 members and govern the organization&rsquo;s strategic initiatives.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">Temme has more than 35 years of experience working in the radiologic sciences. He has served as a practicing radiologic technologist at Children&rsquo;s Hospital in Omaha and a radiologic science professor at UNMC. Temme received a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in radiologic technology from UNMC and a master&rsquo;s degree in public administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">Temme has been active in the ASRT, serving as an education chapter delegate from 1996 to 1998, as a member of the Radiologic Technology Editorial Review Board from 1991 to 1997 and as chairman of the Commission on Education from 1991 to 1992. His affiliate society activities include serving as current chairman of the Nebraska Awards Committee. He also served on the Nebraska Society of Radiologic Technologists board of directors from 1987 to 1988 and as president of the board from 1976 to 1977.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">He became an ASRT Fellow in 1995. ASRT Fellows are recognized for their outstanding contributions to the success of ASRT and the profession.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">ASRT&rsquo;s mission is to provide radiologic technologists with the knowledge, resources and support they need to improve patient care.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;text-indent: 0in\"><em><font size=\"2\">UNMC is the only public health science center in the state. Its educational programs are responsible for training more health professionals practicing in Nebraska than any other institution. Through their commitment to education, research, patient care and outreach, UNMC and its hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center, have established themselves as one of the country&#8217;s leading centers in cancer, transplantation biology, bioterrorism preparedness, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases, genetics, biomedical technology and ophthalmology.
