Frail elderly and geriatric syndromes are the topics for the next geriatric care conference to be broadcast live via the state-wide telehealth network July 16-17.<\/font><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The two-day conference is targeted to health care professionals and will focus on urinary incontinence, unintentional weight loss and failure to thrive, management of hip fractures, developing a rural geriatric assessment program and palliative care.<\/font><\/p>\n

 <\/font><\/p>\n

The conference is part of an educational series hosted by the Nebraska Geriatric Education Center (NEBGEC) at UNMC. It will be broadcast from UNMC’s Durham Research Center to nine sites across the state via the state telehealth network. They include: Beatrice, Chadron, Cozad, Grand Island, Holdrege, Lincoln, Norfolk, Pender and Scottsbluff.<\/font><\/p>\n

 <\/font><\/p>\n

Up to 15 contact hours are available for this conference depending on the number of days attended and profession. For more specific contact hour information as it pertains to your discipline, refer to the Center for Continuing Education website at www.unmc.edu\/cce.<\/font><\/p>\n
