Lindsey Professional Service Award &#8212; a<\/span><span style=\"color: black\">cknowledges a current full or part-time faculty member for service in clinical practice or professional service excellence. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><b><span style=\"color: black\">Bernice Yates, Ph.D. associate professor, UNMC College of Nursing in Omaha, received two awards: <\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: black\">the Pennie Z. Davis Faculty Research Award and the Donna Westmoreland Excellence in Faculty Mentoring Award.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">Pennie Z. Davis Faculty Research Award <\/span><span style=\"color: black\">recognizes contributions to nursing science. The Donna Westmoreland Excellence in Faculty Mentoring Award is awarded for demonstrated excellence in mentoring faculty or graduate assistants in teaching or teaching scholarship.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><b>&nbsp;<\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><b><span style=\"color: black\">Cindy Seidl, assistant professor, UNMC College of Nursing Lincoln Division<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">Rosalee C. Yeaworth <\/span><span style=\"color: black\">Teaching Excellence Award &#8212; the award acknowledges a faculty member for teaching excellence. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><b>&nbsp;<\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><b><span style=\"color: black\">Leeza Moyer, instructor, UNMC College of Nursing Lincoln Division<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">Kathryn Sandahl Philp Award for Creativity and Innovation &#8212; <\/span><span style=\"color: black\">Kathryn Sandahl Philp is a UNMC CON alumna. The award acknowledges and supports faculty creativity and innovation in teaching, research or practice\/service. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><b><span style=\"color: black\">Diane Feldman, UNMC College of Nursing Kearney Division<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">Staff Excellence Award &#8212; <\/span><span style=\"color: black\">presented to a staff member who has made exemplary contributions to the college in the past year, including embodying the spirit of the college, customer service, or respect of individuals for their cultures, contributions and points of view.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><i><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; color: black\">UNMC is the only public health science center in the state. Its educational programs are responsible for training more health professionals practicing in Nebraska than any other institution. Through their commitment to education, research, patient care and outreach, UNMC and its hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center, have established themselves as one of the country&#8217;s leading centers in cancer, transplantation biology, bioterrorism preparedness, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular diseases, genetics, biomedical technology and ophthalmology. UNMC&rsquo;s research funding from external sources now exceeds $82 million annually and has resulted in the creation of more than 2,600 highly skilled jobs in the state. UNMC&#8217;s physician practice group, UNMC Physicians, includes 513 physicians in 50 specialties and subspecialties who practice primarily in The Nebraska Medical Center.
