She will present during the lecture known as the Audrey Solberg Smith Distinguished Lectureship for Teaching Excellence.<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin: 12pt 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">The lecture, which is open to the public at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, will be held at 1 p.m. in Room 3002 of the the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education on the northeast corner of 42<sup>nd<\/sup> and Emile streets. Surface parking is available directly to the east of the Sorrell Center.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">This marks the third year for the annual lectureship, which promotes learning skills and outstanding teaching and is presented by the UNMC College of Nursing.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">The presentation will examine the need for transformation in how students are prepared for nursing practice, address the complexity of nursing work and the implications for transforming nursing education and the future of research in nursing. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: black\">The lecture is made possible through the University of Nebraska Foundation by an endowment from Audrey Solberg &quot;Solly&quot; Smith. She graduated with a degree in nursing from the University of Nebraska School of Nursing in 1947 and a bachelor&#8217;s degree in nursing from the UNMC College of Nursing in 1965.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">There is no fee to attend the presentation and pre-registration is not required.&nbsp;For more information, contact Dani at dwilsonb@unmc.edu or Heidi at hkaschke@unmc.edu.
