Legalizing marijuana is the topic of the next <\/font>Science Café<\/font><\/a> March 8 at the Slowdown located at 729 N. 14th<\/sup> St. in Omaha. <\/font><\/p>\n

 <\/font><\/p>\n

Ally Dering-Anderson,<\/span> Pharm.D., <\/span>will speak from 7 to 8 p.m. and discuss the ethical debate surrounding the use of medical marijuana.<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

 <\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Dering-Anderson is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Pharmacy. She teaches pharmacy law and ethics. <\/span><\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

 <\/font><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

She also frequently speaks on pharmacy and health issues for local groups, state associations, and regional meetings and has presented nationally and internationally. She has worked in various pharmacy settings in the community including long term care facilities and managed care.<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

 <\/font><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Dering-Anderson received her doctor of pharmacy degree from the UNMC College of Pharmacy and a bachelor’s degree from Doane College in Crete. <\/span><\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

 <\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Science Cafe is a free educational event sponsored by UNMC and other groups to increase the population’s science literacy. Hosted by UNMC, <\/font><\/span>Bio Nebraska<\/font><\/a> and the <\/font><\/span>Nebraska Coalition for Lifesaving Cures<\/font><\/a>, Science Cafes are held the first Tuesday of each month in Omaha and one Thursday every other month in Lincoln.<\/font><\/font><\/span><\/p>\n
