Free massages will be available, and free health screenings will be offered for <span style=\"color: windowtext\">falls, gait and balance,<\/span> o<span style=\"color: windowtext\">steoporosis, hearing, vision, blood pressure and blood sugar.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">In addition, students will provide nutritional counseling and answer questions pertaining to medications. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&ldquo;We&rsquo;re hoping for a large turnout,&rdquo; said Jackie Whittington, clinical research associate for UNMC&rsquo;s geriatrics division. &ldquo;It will be the first opportunity for many people to see our new building, so we&rsquo;re excited to show it off. We think there should be something for everyone.&rdquo;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">The Home Instead Center for Successful Aging, which opened last year, represents a new model&nbsp;of care for Omaha and the region. It&nbsp;encompasses the expertise of care providers from across the spectrum including&nbsp;geriatric medicine, geriatric psychiatry, nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, exercise science, and whole person wellness.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Informational handouts will be provided by several organizations including the Alzheimer&rsquo;s Association, AARP, Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging, Home Instead Senior Care, Home Access Services, Mobilis Home Medical Equipment, Olson Center for Women&rsquo;s Health, and the <\/span><span style=\"color: windowtext\">Weigel Williamson Center for Visual Rehabilitation.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">Other highlights include food samples from Hy-Vee and Trader Joe&rsquo;s and <span style=\"color: windowtext\">Wii Fit demonstrations. <\/span>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">For more information, call Whittington at 402-559-6117 or email: <a href=\"mailto:jwhittin@unmc.edu\">jwhittin@unmc.edu<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><i><span style=\"color: black;font-size: 10pt\">Through world-class research and patient care, UNMC generates breakthroughs that make life better for people throughout Nebraska and beyond.
