\nHarrisburg, NE – A few tickets still remain for the 2014 Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska<\/a> to be held June 6-7 in the Panhandle of Nebraska.<\/p>\n

\nFollowing months of preparation, organizers are putting the finishing touches on this premier event.<\/p>\n

\nCo-chair Jeff Heldt said tickets are selling quickly, and he encouraged people to go online or call to purchase tickets before they sell out. He stressed that you don’t need to be involved in agriculture to attend.<\/p>\n

\n“Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska is the name of the event, but people from all walks of life are invited and encouraged to attend and help us raise money for this incredible cause – cancer research,” Heldt said. “Our lives have all been touched by this disease, and together, we can make a difference.”<\/p>\n

\nThe Cattlemen’s Ball is hosted annually by a different Nebraska family involved in the beef industry. Its mission is to raise money for cancer research, while showcasing rural Nebraska and promoting beef as part of a healthy diet. Since it began in 1998, the Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska has raised more than $9.73 million. The goal for the 2014 event is to raise $2.5 million for cancer research and local medical causes. <\/p>\n

\nAs in past years, 90 percent of the proceeds will go to the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center<\/a> at the University of Nebraska Medical Center<\/a> with the remaining 10 percent earmarked toward regional medical organizations.<\/p>\n

\nHost families for this year’s event will be Kenny and Misty Stauffer along with the ranch owners Jeff and Kathy May.  Co-chairs are Heldt and Monty Stoddard. The theme for the event will be “Corral a Cure for Cancer.”<\/p>\n

\nHighlighting this year’s event will be a concert on Saturday night featuring the award-winning country music duo, Montgomery Gentry<\/a>.  Throughout the two-day event, there will be live & silent auctions, a golf tournament, style show, truck raffle, an art show with wine tasting, beef education displays as well as a dance each evening. <\/p>\n

\nA Top Hand ticket is $75 and includes all events after 11 a.m. on Saturday, the evening meal and the Montgomery Gentry Concert, along with the dance following the concert (does not include the Trail Boss luncheon). <\/p>\n

\nA Trail Boss ticket is $350 and will gain you admission to the events on both days; which include the Friday evening meal, a champagne brunch, the Trail Boss luncheon, the evening meal on Saturday, preferred seating at the concert, along with the dance that follows.<\/p>\n

\nVolunteers are still needed in many areas and there are volunteer positions available prior to and following the event that will not require you to purchase a ticket.<\/p>\n
