{"id":49608,"date":"2014-06-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-02T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/06\/02\/2014-cattlemens-ball-tickets-officially-sold-out\/"},"modified":"2022-08-22T16:13:21","modified_gmt":"2022-08-22T21:13:21","slug":"2014-cattlemens-ball-tickets-officially-sold-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/06\/02\/2014-cattlemens-ball-tickets-officially-sold-out\/","title":{"rendered":"2014 Cattlemen&#8217;s Ball tickets officially sold out"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>\nHarrisburg, NE &ndash; The 2014 Cattlemen&rsquo;s Ball of Nebraska is officially sold out.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\nAs of today, tickets are no longer available to purchase for the event, and there are no ticket sales at the gate.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe annual event will be held at the Hoot Owl Ranch in southern Banner County on June 6-7 to raise money for cancer research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\nThe Cattlemen&rsquo;s Ball is hosted by owners, Jeff &amp; Kathy May; along with the ranch managers, Kenny &amp; Misty Stauffer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\nThe mission for this event is to raise money for cancer research at the Fred &amp; Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, while showcasing the Nebraska panhandle and promoting beef as part of a healthy diet.<\/p>\n<p>\nSince its inception, the Cattlemen&rsquo;s Ball has raised more than $9.8 million.&nbsp; In addition to providing funds to the cancer center, 10 percent of the proceeds will go to local health care organizations.<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>The Fred &amp; Pamela Buffett Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center &#8212; a distinction held by only 68 centers in the country. It is the only NCI-designated center in the state of Nebraska. The Fred &amp; Pamela Buffett Cancer Center is also one of the 13 founding members of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), an alliance of the world&rsquo;s leading cancer centers. This recognition means the most current and innovative treatment options are available to cancer center patients through the integration of cutting-edge research into state-of-the-art care. Cancer center physicians and scientists work together to quickly translate discoveries made in the laboratory into innovative treatments for the patient. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Through world-class research and patient care, UNMC generates breakthroughs that make life better for people throughout Nebraska and beyond.
