{"id":49687,"date":"2014-06-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-06-10T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/06\/10\/water-for-food-conference-seeking-posters\/"},"modified":"2014-06-10T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2014-06-10T05:00:00","slug":"water-for-food-conference-seeking-posters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/06\/10\/water-for-food-conference-seeking-posters\/","title":{"rendered":"Water for Food conference seeking posters"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>The 2014 Water for Food Global Conference <a href=\"http:\/\/waterforfood.nebraska.edu\/blog\/2011\/03\/01\/graduate-student-poster-competition-is-open\/\">poster competition<\/a> is open for graduate students who wish to present their research on potential solutions for ensuring a water- and food-secure world. <\/p>\n<p>Participants must <a href=\"http:\/\/research.unl.edu\/events\/wffposters.php\">submit<\/a> a 250-word abstract by July 15 to be considered for the competition.<\/p>\n<p>In keeping with the conference theme, &#8220;Harnessing the Data Revolution to Ensure Water and Food Security from Field to Global Scales,&#8221; the conference is calling for posters in the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Data from field to global scales.\n<li>Yield gaps and water productivity.\n<li>Innovations in data systems.\n<li>Data to better understand climate systems.\n<li>Water, food and health.\n<li>Economic and policy dimensions of Water for Food.\n<li>General topics related to Water for Food.<\/ul>\n<p>Graduate students have three opportunities to compete: an online competition prior to the conference and two on-site competitions at the conference. The online poster competition provides an excellent opportunity for students around the globe to be engaged in the event even if they are unable to attend in person. Details about the on-site competitions will be outlined more completely in July.<\/p>\n<p>The Water for Food Conference poster committee will review the abstracts and notify presenters of their acceptance via email by Aug. 1. If accepted, an electronic  pdf copy of the poster is due by Sept. 1.<\/p>\n<p>Faculty and university partners may also display posters, but are not eligible for the competition.<\/p>\n<p>For more
