Potential nominees should meet one or more of the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Distinguished service to UNMC or the University of Nebraska.\n<li>Distinguished service to the state.\n<li>Graduates, former students or former employees who have achieved high distinction.\n<li>Persons of high distinction, distinguished achievement and national recognition.<\/ul>\n<p>Potential candidates need not necessarily have a former connection to UNMC or the state of Nebraska.  Although potential candidates for honorary degrees from UNMC would be likely to have made contributions in the areas of health and health science, contributions need not be limited to these areas. <\/p>\n<p><b>Recipients of honorary degrees must be able to attend the UNMC Commencement on May 9, 2015.<\/b>  The Chancellor&#8217;s Office will fund travel and expenses for the recipient, as well as host a small dinner party for the recipient. The recipient also may be invited by the nominating department to give a presentation on the Friday preceding the commencement exercises. <\/p>\n<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/app1.unmc.edu\/PublicAffairs\/TodaySite\/images\/siteimages\/Degree0619.pdf\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> for the nomination procedures and a nomination form.
