to strengthen education on sexual misconduct"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>After the Board of Regents passed a new, university-wide <a href=\"https:\/\/app1.unmc.edu\/PublicAffairs\/TodaySite\/images\/siteimages\/policy0623.pdf\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">sexual misconduct policy<\/a> this month, they called for each campus to engage in strong educational programs on the topic.<\/p>\n<p>Dele Davies, M.D., vice chancellor for academic affairs and dean of graduate studies, said the new misconduct policy calls for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A commitment to engaging in regular education to create a safe campus culture.\n<li>Creating an easy system for reporting misconduct, including anonymous reporting.\n<li>Providing appropriate counseling and resources for dealing with acts of sexual misconduct.<\/ul>\n<p>Dr. Davies said Carmen Sirizzotti and Cheryl Thompson, Ph.D., UNMC&#8217;s Title IX officers, have already begun a campus-wide series of training sessions with faculty related to Title IX and sexual harassment, and the current annual campus training process is being reviewed to make sure it meets all the requirements of the new policy and national standards.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We also are currently exploring the possibility of engaging outside entities, such as &#8216;Living the Green Dot&#8217; or &#8216;Think About It,&#8217; to support campus-wide comprehensive education,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p>Faculty, staff or students wishing to make suggestions on any other options to create an ongoing
