{"id":50036,"date":"2014-07-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-07-28T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/07\/28\/unmc-outreach-database-needs-input\/"},"modified":"2022-09-02T20:27:46","modified_gmt":"2022-09-03T01:27:46","slug":"unmc-outreach-database-needs-input","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/07\/28\/unmc-outreach-database-needs-input\/","title":{"rendered":"UNMC Outreach Database needs input"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>The UNMC Outreach Database is an important tool for documenting UNMC&#8217;s impact across the state of Nebraska.<\/p>\n<p>The database is used to create Legislative District Impact Sheets (LDIS), charting UNMC&#8217;s impact in a district-by-district report that can be shared with state senators who want to gauge UNMC&#8217;s efforts within their districts. The sheets are updated every two years, with the next update due in January.<\/p>\n<p>The activities to be reported are broad and flexible; any service or programs a department or unit does that benefits the community, locally or statewide, can be entered, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>lectures given to the community.\n<li>outreach clinics.\n<li>mobile nursing units.\n<li>tours for students, specifying the students&#8217; schools.\n<li>lab coordination.\n<li>preceptors.\n<li>booths at health fair, expos, educational fairs.\n<li>free screenings.\n<li>support group organizations.<\/ul>\n<p>Any outreach efforts from Jan. 1, 2013 to Dec. 31 of this year must be entered by Dec. 1 of this year. All impact or outreach programs must be entered into the Outreach Database. <\/p>\n<p>UNMC Brand Manager Dawn Nevarez suggests that one person in each department or unit should be responsible for entering information.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Outreach Database and the Legislative District Impact Sheets are critically important,&#8221; Nevarez said. &#8220;They provide the state senators, who appropriate funds for UNMC and the rest of the university system, a complete picture of all the things UNMC does to positively impact their districts and the state as a whole.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>Link to the database <a href=\"https:\/\/app1.unmc.edu\/outreach\/programs\/index.cfm\">here<\/a>.
