Dr. Shaffer, an assistant professor of pharmacy practice, has been at UNMC for the past four years, after having served as pharmacy director at The Nebraska Medical Center and Children&#8217;s Hospital &amp; Medical Center. <\/p>\n<p>He currently is finishing a Ph.D. in clinical and translational research with a focus in pediatrics. Dr. Shaffer also serves as director of the Pediatric and Adolescent Pharmacology Research Unit. <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Shaffer is eager to take on his new role during a time of great opportunity for pharmacy students, both with a shifting health care landscape and with the building of the new Lozier Center for Pharmacy Sciences and Education\/UNMC Center for Drug Discovery. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am particularly excited to help pharmacy students find their voices within the changing pharmacy profession,&#8221;
