Current runs whether the equipment is being operated or not and in addition to wasting power it also will put off heat.\n<li>Shut fume hood sashes when not in use.\n<li>Use less electricity whenever possible: open doors manually instead of using the ADA button, take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.<\/ul>\n<p><b>Check out this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/90826260@N06\/sets\/72157646436329598\/\">photo slideshow<\/a> to see pictures of employees who &#8220;got caught&#8221; as they were engaged in energy curtailment behaviors on Tuesday. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Out of the office last week?  Not in compliance but wish you would have been?<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t worry!  This is Nebraska, and though it&#8217;s supposed to cool off this week, it will likely warm back up. LiveGreen volunteers will be back out to reward those who help conserve natural resources, save energy, keep the load off the campus energy system, and save money. <\/p>\n<p>And if you did get a treat, keep up the good work!
