Harris established the award in memory of his late wife Bernice, who suffered from Lewy body disease, a rare neurodegenerative disease. The award was decided by a committee which reviewed each application thoroughly and scored them based on relevance to neurodegenerative diseases and research progress. Dr. Wehbi will attend the Governing Council at the APHA annual meeting, where the council will discuss proposed policies, major association decisions and the election of association officers. The council also presents important points about proposed policy statements and views of the section council at public hearings where members participate in proposed policy
