{"id":50430,"date":"2014-09-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-09-16T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/09\/16\/under-the-microscope-united-way-day-2\/"},"modified":"2022-08-29T14:48:39","modified_gmt":"2022-08-29T19:48:39","slug":"under-the-microscope-united-way-day-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/09\/16\/under-the-microscope-united-way-day-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Under the Microscope: United Way, Day 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><table border=\"0\" width=\"250\" cellspacing=\"10\" align=\"right\">\n<tr>\n<td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<span style=\"font-size:0.85em;line-height:150%\">Watch the video.<\/span>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>United Way of the Midlands proudly funds 134 health and human service programs that help those in need across Douglas, Sarpy and Pottawattamie counties. <\/p>\n<p>The services provided by United Way of the Midlands partner agencies include: basic needs, employment, housing and income, health, mental health, safety, volunteers and disaster, senior recreation, sexual assault and domestic violence, youth mentoring and parent education, youth recreation, and youth resources.  <\/p>\n<p><TABLE border=\"0\" width=\"500\" cellspacing=\"5\" cellpadding=\"3\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<TABLE border=\"1\" width=\"500\" cellspacing=\"1\" cellpadding=\"5\" bgcolor=\"99ccff\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<font face=\"arial\"><br \/>\n<B><br \/>\nThe running total<br \/>\n<\/B><br \/>\n<BR><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<font face=\"arial\" size=\"2\"><br \/>\nAs of 3 p.m. Monday, UNMC achieved:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Donations of $60,469.56, more than 40 percent of the campaign goal of $150,000. (Leadership on UNMC&#8217;s campus contributed more than $29,000 in leadership giving campaign that began last week.)\n<li>Employee participation of 11.9 percent. Last year, there was 47 percent participation &#8212; this year&#8217;s goal is 50 percent. Remember, using the <a href=\"https:\/\/net.unmc.edu\/eserv\/\">UNMC eServ<\/a> website to choose not to donate counts as participation!\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/P><br \/>\n<\/FONT><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE><br \/>\nToday, UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P.
