{"id":50502,"date":"2014-09-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-09-22T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/09\/22\/management-series-still-accepting-applications\/"},"modified":"2014-09-22T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2014-09-22T05:00:00","slug":"management-series-still-accepting-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2014\/09\/22\/management-series-still-accepting-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"Management series still accepting applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>The Management Series is an eight-month professional development experience uniquely designed for UNMC supervisors, managers and administrators to develop the necessary tools to become highly effective leaders. <\/p>\n<p>Topics for the series foster skills in visionary and strategic thinking, leadership and team building, communication, plus contemporary topics in the ever-changing management landscape. <\/p>\n<p>Since the series is progressive by design, participants must make a commitment to the entire series, with the endorsement of their immediate supervisor. The course features a highly interactive format; as a result, enrollment is limited, so early application is recommended. <\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/app1.unmc.edu\/PublicAffairs\/TodaySite\/images\/siteimages\/App0826.pdf\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">Application<\/a> deadline is Sept. 24.<\/b> The program is sponsored by UNMC Human Resources-Employee Relations. Monthly sessions, beginning Oct. 17, will be held off campus to allow for uninterrupted learning. Please review the <a href=\"https:\/\/app1.unmc.edu\/PublicAffairs\/TodaySite\/images\/siteimages\/Poster0826.pdf\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener\">Management Series Poster<\/a> for details regarding session dates, times and a summary of each session.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Management Series Course Objectives are:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discover the core traits of a successful leader.\n<li>Learn how to prepare for difficult conversations.\n<li>Begin to appreciate and learn to capitalize on your own strengths and those of others.\n<li>Discover best practices in writing job descriptions, interviewing, hiring, and performance evaluations.\n<li>Gain a better understanding of UNMC&#8217;s corrective and disciplinary processes.\n<li>Understand common obstacles to greater inclusion in the workplace.\n<li>Discuss budget, regulatory and compliance processes at UNMC.<\/ul>\n<p>For more information about the Management Series, click <a
