The vice chancellor for academic affairs’ office has announced that there has been an update to the Presidential Executive Memorandum No. 25<\/a>, which traditionally deals with student travel to countries that are under Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and U.S. State Department Level 3 warnings. <\/p>\n

The current update relates to guidance about faculty and staff travel, particularly to CDC Level 3 warning designated countries (currently Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone). <\/p>\n

A Travel Health Notice at Warning Level 3 is issued when the CDC recommends
\nthat travelers avoid all non-essential travel to a destination due to high risk<\/p>\n

Any such planned travel to these countries by faculty and staff will now need approval by the chancellor. Also, independent, non-university sponsored travel to these countries must be reported to the vice chancellor for academic affairs (and also, for UNMC, to the Office of International Health, under Ward Chambers, M.D.) prior to departure.<\/b> <\/p>\n
