Rinne has spent his entire career in the field of politics, working as a community organizer, political party official, legislative aide, campaign manager and executive director of a non-partisan political organization.&nbsp;Long interested in environmental and climate issues, Rinne was the political and legislative chair for the Nebraska Sierra Club from 2004-2013.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\nRinne&rsquo;s interest in food security issues was instrumental in the creation of the &quot;Hawley Hamlet&quot; &#8211; an urban agriculture gardening project that was featured in the April-May 2014 issue of <em>Mother Earth News<\/em>.&nbsp;This past October, he was the keynote speaker for the University of Nebraska-Kearney&#039;s &quot;Political Science Week&quot; where he spoke on the topics of climate change and the importance of rebuilding our local food supply.<\/p>\n<p>\nScience Caf&eacute;s involve a face-to-face conversation with a scientist about current science topics. They are open to everyone (21 and older), and take place in casual settings like pubs and coffeehouses. Each meeting is organized around an interesting topic of conversation.
