On Wednesday, May 20, join the Omaha community in Omaha Gives! – a 24-hour charitable challenge to benefit the community’s nonprofits. <\/p>\n

This year’s online fundraising event features nearly 700 local organizations, including the UNMC SHARING Clinics. Tomorrow you have the opportunity to support these student-run clinics as well as other participating organizations. <\/p>\n

Visit the Omaha Gives! website<\/a> on May 20, from midnight to midnight, to make your gift. Every gift will make a difference and help the UNMC SHARING Clinics receive a percentage of a matching challenge gift available to all participating organizations. For every $1 donated, approximately $8 in medical services can be provided.<\/b><\/p>\n

UNMC SHARING Clinics:<\/b>

\nUNMC student and faculty volunteers provide medical care to Omaha’s underprivileged populations by offering high-quality, low-cost health care and human services. <\/p>\n

Through the four SHARING (Student Health Alliance Reaching Indigent Needy Groups) Clinics more than 1,400 patients annually receive primary health care, HIV and STD testing, primary care for Type 2 diabetes and vision care.<\/p>\n

The UNMC students involved in SHARING change and save lives not only by providing quality care but by managing the clinics’ operations, including fundraising for SHARING’s annual budget.<\/p>\n

But UNMC wants to help even more families in need.<\/p>\n
