Become a leader in population health and health care through the Great Plains Public Health Leadership Institute offered by UNMC’s College of Public Health.<\/p>\n

This is the 11th year the year-long institute has provided a place for established and emerging leaders in the region’s public health systems to build and enhance leadership skills. Applications are due June 26.<\/b> <\/p>\n

The program will allow participants to focus on personal leadership skills, said Kathleen Brandert, director of the institute. <\/p>\n

“The Great Plains Public Health Leadership Institute helps you solidify your leadership style, enhance your ability to grow teams, and grow your influence within the larger health care system,” she said. “In the institute, scholars experience a variety of the latest, most effective leadership learning tools including a 360 assessment, simulation experiences, and one-on-one executive coaching opportunities, all in a fun and enjoyable learning environment.”<\/p>\n

The institute is open to emerging, mid-level and senior leaders from all sectors who play a role in the health system, from government and insurance companies, to community clinics and hospitals, and to civic and elected leaders from Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and South Dakota.<\/p>\n

Clinicians and faculty interested in investing in their leadership skill set are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n

The Leadership Institute is supported by funds from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration Bureau of Health Professions, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and the UNMC College of Public Health.<\/p>\n
