Blood from American Red Cross drives helps millions of patients in more than 2,600 hospitals in the country, including Nebraska Medicine. It takes about an hour to give blood, and each donation can help save up to three lives.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive in lower Storz Pavilion Sept. 1 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.redcrossblood.org\/give\/drive\/driveSearchList.jsp?zipSponsor=009495&amp;sd=060215&amp;ed=083115&amp;zipFormat=false&amp;_requestid=560144\">Click here<\/a> to schedule an appointment (Sponsor code: 009495). Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged for a faster processing time. You also may contact the <a href=\"mailto:wcenter@nebraskamed.com\">Wellness Center<\/a> at 402-552-2775 to make an appointment. <\/p>\n<p>Please bring your Red Cross donor card or photo ID.<\/p>\n<p>Drink plenty of fluids and eat a large meal before donating. First-time donors are always welcome.
