{"id":53833,"date":"2015-10-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-10-12T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2015\/10\/12\/registration-open-for-respite-care-training\/"},"modified":"2015-10-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2015-10-12T05:00:00","slug":"registration-open-for-respite-care-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2015\/10\/12\/registration-open-for-respite-care-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Registration open for respite care training"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>For families with disabled family members, respite care can provide relief from daily pressures.<\/p>\n<p>The Munroe-Meyer Insitute, University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) Program and MMI&#8217;s recreation therapy department have partnered with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services to offer respite provider training. <\/p>\n<p>The training program, called Respite, Education and Support Tools (REST), is designed to provide education and tools to caregivers so they can become confident and successful in providing respite care to adults and children. <\/p>\n<p>The training will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Munroe-Meyer Institute, Room 1095.<\/p>\n<p>The training offers the education and tools needed to be confident and successful in providing respite care to adults and children with special needs.  <\/p>\n<p>Registration deadline is Nov. 2.
