Today we meet:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Name:<\/b> Timothy Alan Bielecki\n<li><b>Hometown:<\/b> Gilroy, Calif.\n<li><b>Program\/Year:<\/b> Cancer Research Graduate Program (CRGP), fifth year<\/ul>\n<p><b>List three songs on your playlist.<\/b> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> &#8220;Cigarettes &amp; Coffee,&#8221; Otis Redding\n<li> &#8220;Say My Name,&#8221; ODESZA\n<li> &#8220;Everlong,&#8221; Foo Fighters<\/ul>\n<p><b>What sparked your interest in cancer biology?<\/b><br \/>\nI&#8217;ve always had an innate fascination with biology. After my grandparents passed away from cancer, my focus narrowed toward cancer biology, which eventually led me here. <\/p>\n<p><b>Your favorite study snack is:<\/b><br \/> <br \/>\nTrail mix &#8212; a.k.a., M&amp;Ms with obstacles<\/p>\n<p><b>Your favorite app is:<\/b><br \/> <br \/>\nPodcasts. It&#8217;s a fantastic way to learn while doing routine lab work. My favorites are Intelligence2 debates, Hardcore History by Dan Carlin, Stuff You Should Know, and the Fantasy Footballers.<\/p>\n<p><TABLE border=\"0\" width=\"400\" cellspacing=\"10\" align=\"right\"><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Web11016.jpg\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\" alt=\"picture disc.\"><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<TR><br \/>\n<TD><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:0.85em;line-height:150%\"><\/span><br \/>\n<\/TD><br \/>\n<\/TR><br \/>\n<\/TABLE><b>Three things people may not know about you:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I&#8217;m currently serving as the Alumni Relations chair for the Graduate Student Association. My main focus is to develop an online directory of UNMC alumni from all the colleges on campus. This directory will serve as a way for current students and alumni to reach out to other alumni in the UNMC network. We believe the UNMC alumni directory will open new doors for interprofessional collaboration, provide mentorship opportunities, improve career outcomes, and even help highlight the successes of numerous alumni. It was NCAA Division III but it still counts as college football, right?\n<li>I spent three months in Australia studying coastal marine ecology, swimming with sharks, surfing with dolphins and hanging out with kangaroos.
