She specializes in both gastrointestinal\/minimally invasive and bariatric surgery.  Here&#8217;s a brief rundown of her background and the expertise she brings to campus. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Name:<\/b> Tiffany Tanner, M.D.\n<li><b>Hometown:<\/b> Omaha\n<li><b>Title and department at UNMC:<\/b> Assistant professor, UNMC Department of Surgery,<br \/>\nDivision of General Surgery <\/ul>\n<p><b>Research\/Professional Interests:<\/b>  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bariatrics\n<li>Foregut surgery (Nissen Fundoplication)\n<li>Hernia repair\n<li>Benign biliary disease\n<li>Laparoscopic\/minimally invasive surgery<\/ul>\n<p><b>What I love most about patient care:<\/b><br \/>\nI love the difference I make in people&#8217;s lives. Patients come in with a problem. It may be a new problem or one they have had for years. I take them to the OR and make them feel better. I have a special passion for bariatrics. This patient population has struggled with their weight, usually for years.
