Marlene Schneider, UNMC Faculty\/Employee Assistance Program, on &#8220;So I&#8217;m retired &#8212; now what?&#8221;<\/b><br \/>\nThis workshop will focus on the process of retirement from a non-financial perspective. <\/p>\n<p>It will be followed by a <b>retirement fair<\/b> from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Sorrell Center atrium, featuring various vendors discussing their organizations, as well as potential volunteer opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><b>April 1: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater, Room 3010. Matthew Leonard, Blue Cross Blue Shield, on &#8220;Navigating health care laws&#8221;<\/b><br \/>\nHow does the health care law affect you?  Join us for a general overview of the new health care law and expert answers to your questions.<\/p>\n<p><b>April 8: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater, Room 3010. Amy Longo, J.D., of Ellick, Jones, Buelt, Blazek, and Longo, on &#8220;Wills, Living Wills, Trusts&#8221;<\/b><br \/>\nWhat happens if you die with no will?  Who will make the decisions regarding distribution of your assets upon your death?  These issues and more will be discussed with attorney Longo.<\/p>\n<p><b>April 12: 2:30-3:30 p.m., Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater, Room 3010. Teresa Cobucci, TIAA, on &#8220;Paying Yourself:  Income Options in Retirement&#8221;<\/b><br \/>\nHow can you simplify retirement income?  What are the basic rules that govern the most common retirement accounts?  When should you tap into different assets?  What are the flexible income choices that TIAA offers?<\/p>\n<p><b>April 19:  2-3 p.m., Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater, Room 3010. Jessica Shaver, Social Security Administration, on &#8220;Everything You Wanted to Know About Social Security&#8221;<\/b><br \/>\nWhat can you expect from Social Security? When can you retire with full Social Security? Is there any benefit to drawing at age 62? Join Shaver to discuss these topics and others. <\/p>\n<p><b>April 20: 10-11 a.m., Durham Research Center Auditorium, Room 1002.<br \/>\nJason Cronick, Fidelity Investments, on &#8220;Shifting from Saving to Spending&#8221;<\/b><br \/>\nWhat should you consider as you make the transition into retirement?  How much money can you afford to withdraw each year?  Join Cronick for information on these topics and others.<\/p>\n<p><b>April 21: 10-11 a.m., Wittson Hall Amphitheater, Room 3034. &#8220;Your Medicare and Supplements in Plain English&#8221;<\/b><br \/>\nIf you will be turning 65 within the next year, or have parents or spouses who are nearing age 65, it is time to start learning about your Medicare options. A representative from Volunteers Assisting Seniors will be giving a Medicare Basics presentation.<\/p>\n<p>Registration is required. Sessions cannot be recorded or broadcast. No additional sessions will be given.
