\n<\/TABLE>Janet Henry, an office associate at the Munroe-Meyer Institute’s Department of Education and Child Development, died Friday after a long battle with cancer. <\/p>\n

Henry had been at UNMC for 20 years.<\/p>\n

“Dedicated, quality, conscientious, hardworking are just some of the words that emerge when you think of Janet,” said Barb Jackson, Ph.D., director of the department’s Interdisciplinary Center for Program Evaluation. “She has been the backbone of our department, keeping things running smoothly and balancing the many demands of the job and supporting us all as well. <\/p>\n

“But most important was her character. She taught us how to face the challenges of life, through her own courage and strength and positive approach to life.”<\/p>\n

According to the Council Bluffs Nonpareil: Visitation with the family is 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a celebration of life service at 7 p.m., at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel, 545 Willow Ave., Council Bluffs. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in her name.<\/p>\n
