Ashton Lampe, Au.D., an audiologist in the department of otolaryngology at Nebraska Medicine, will discuss hearing loss, hearing aids and implant options at the next Omaha Science Cafe at 7 p.m., June 7 at the Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St. <\/p>\n

Dr. Lampe attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she received her bachelor of science degree in education and human sciences, a master of science degree in audiology and doctorate of audiology in May 2015. <\/p>\n

In her role as an audiologist at Nebraska Medicine, she completes diagnostic hearing and balance evaluations for both pediatric and adult patients, evaluates for and fits hearing aids, bone-anchored hearing devices and cochlear implants. <\/p>\n

Dr. Lampe is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.<\/p>\n

Science Cafes involve a face-to-face conversation with a scientist about current science topics. They are open to everyone (21 and older) and take place in casual settings like pubs and coffeehouses. Each meeting is organized around an interesting topic of conversation. A scientist gives a brief presentation followed by a question and answer period.<\/p>\n
