\n<\/TABLE>Pam Althof, supervisor of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in the Munroe-Meyer Institute’s Human Genetic Laboratory, has been selected by the Foundation for Genetic Technology to receive this year’s Genome Award. A Genome Award recipient must be a member of the Association of Genetic Technologists (AGT), have four-plus years of experience in cytogenetics or molecular genetics, and be certified as a technologist in cytogenetics or molecular genetics. <\/p>\n

The selection criteria for the award included:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • quality of abstract, essay, award, or grant;\n
  • outstanding professional performance;\n
  • evidence of outstanding contribution to the profession of cytogenetics or molecular genetics; and\n
  • initiative. <\/ul>\n

    Diane Pickering, Human Genetics Laboratory manager, was selected to give the 2016 Margaret Barch Memorial Workshop at the 41st annual meeting for the Association of Genetic Technologists.
