What if it had been a major one centered in the Omaha area? Would you be prepared? <\/p>\n<p>To help you prepare for any disaster, attend today&#8217;s Preparedness Fair, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Truhlsen Events Center on the first floor of the Sorrell Center. <\/p>\n<p>This fair kicks off several National Preparedness Month activities planned by the Center for Preparedness Education of the College of Public Health in partnership with the COPH Student Response Team.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous vendors will be on hand to provide information and hands-on demonstrations.  Vendors include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Salvation Army\n<li>Arbor Family Counseling\n<li>Nebraska Public Health Laboratory\n<li>UNMC HEROES\n<li>AMTA Community Service Massage Team\n<li>UNMC Geriatrics\n<li>UNMC Safety\n<li>UNMC Security\n<li>Tri-County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)\n<li>Douglas County Emergency Management\n<li>Douglas County Health Department\n<li>Nebraska Information Analysis Center\n<li>Ollie Webb Center\n<li>The Kim Foundation\n<li>Paws for Friendship\n<li>UNMC EMPOWER\n<li>Center for Preparedness Education\n<li>Medical Reserve Corps\n<li>Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals (AHEPP)<\/ul>\n<p>Other activities include social media contests on Facebook (Center for Preparedness Education) and Twitter (@preped) as well as walk-arounds by the Preparedness Patrol throughout the month. Each week, information on various components of preparedness on our Facebook group will be featured.  <\/p>\n<p>The Center for Preparedness Education focuses on building community preparedness through
