There are lots of exciting things going on with LiveGreen, and we want to let you in on all the details.<\/p>\n

Did you know that LiveGreen got a Facebook page<\/a>? Now you can keep up-to-date on all types of information on campus, from little things like sidewalk closures to big things like earth week activities. We’ll also keep you updated on local news and activities as well as national and international items of interest. Like us at LiveGreen Nebraska<\/a> so you can stay current.<\/p>\n

Since its installation in April 2014, more than 5,000 books have been donated and given away at the Little Free Library<\/a> — and that doesn’t count all the books you have placed directly on the shelves. Thank you. We can still use more, so feel free to bring books in whenever you can. If you have a large donation, email livegreen@unmc.edu<\/a> and we’ll help! Please do not leave any items that are not books on the shelves, and do not leave items on the floor around the library.<\/p>\n

If you have books you don’t think most would like to read (textbooks?), you can place them in a collection box for Better World Books outside the C-store in the Michael Sorrell Center or Bookstore in the Student Life Center. They donate them nationally and internationally to people in need.<\/p>\n

We are working hard to increase our recycling on campus. Please note this change in cardboard: as always, cardboard recycling includes corrugated boxes, but now also includes “paperboard,” i.e., tissue\/frozen meal\/supply boxes, and now includes hanging file folders and items of that grade. These items cannot go in blue\/paper recycling bins. If it’s not truly paper, it’s cardboard. <\/p>\n

Speaking of file folders, check out our Supply Exchange<\/a>. There are lots of free research and office supplies waiting to find new homes while saving you money and diverting material from the landfill. If you are looking for a supply, you can list that too.<\/p>\n

Thinking about using one of the Zipcars<\/a> on campus? Be sure to sign up with Zipcar<\/a> ahead of when you need it. You will receive a card that will allow you to reserve and use a car.
