The D.N.P. is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses in advanced clinical expertise, quality improvement, patient safety and health systems change.<\/p>\n<p>The effort, called &#8220;Take a Closer Look . . . Ph.D. &amp; D.N.P.,&#8221; will include events at the following locations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Omaha &#8211; Monday, Oct. 3, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., UNMC College of Nursing Center for Nursing Science, 41st St. &amp; Dewey Ave., third floor, student atrium.\n<li>Lincoln &#8211; Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., UNMC College of Nursing Lincoln Division, 1230 O St., Suite 131, Commerce Court (Wells Fargo building). Parking is available in the Rampark Parking Garage, 1225 P St. (between O and P streets or on P Street, between 13th and 14th streets).\n<li>Online webinar &#8211; Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 4-5 p.m. For information, contact the UNMC College of Nursing at (402) 559-4110 or <a href=\"mailto:GraduateNursing@unmc.edu\">by email<\/a>.<\/ul>\n<p>Anyone interested in attending may RSVP <a href=\"mailto:GraduateNursing@unmc.edu\">here<\/a>. Sessions also include how to select the right degree, how to finance a degree, and tips to juggling life as a student. <\/p>\n<p>The UNMC College of Nursing&#8217;s D.N.P. program was recently ranked second in the nation by Value Colleges in its Top 50 Best Value Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs of 2016. UNMC offers the only Ph.D. in nursing degree in Nebraska. <\/p>\n<p>The Nebraska Center for Nursing reports that less than 1 percent of registered nurses in Nebraska hold a doctoral degree.
