He then continued in various roles in the department, including educational and career mentorship, fundraising and participation in courses, seminars and grand rounds. Pursuant to Regents Policy 6.2.7, facility namings for persons retired from the university less than five years must be approved by the board.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Family Medicine editing group has updated textbook published<\/strong><br \/>\nUNMC&#039;s Paul Paulman, M.D., and Audrey Paulman, M.D., with colleagues Robert Taylor, M.D., and Laeth Nasir, M.D., have collaborated to edit an updated textbook. The seventh edition of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.springer.com\/us\/book\/9783319044132\">&quot;Family Medicine: Principles and Practice&quot;<\/a> is published by Springer. According to the publisher, the classic reference book has been vastly updated from its previous edition to reflect the many changes in clinical medicine since 2003. The publisher calls &quot;Family Medicine: Principles and Practice,&quot; a must-have reference for medical students, residents and practicing physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants actively involved in patient care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNMC&#039;s Dr. Raichlin published in essay collection<\/strong><br \/>\nUNMC physician Eugenia Raichlin, M.D., associate professor, internal medicine division of cardiology, contributed an essay to a new book, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Miracles-We-Have-Seen-Physicians\/dp\/0757319378\">&quot;Miracles We Have Seen &#8212; America&#039;s Leading Physicians Share Stories They Can&#039;t Forget.&quot;<\/a> Edited by Harley A. Rotbart, M.D. and published by HCI Books, the famed publisher of the original Chicken Soup for the Soul series, the book is a collection of 85 extraordinary essays written by renowned specialists in virtually every field of medicine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Wilson to speak at Nebraska Research &amp; Innovation Conference<\/strong><br \/>\nTony Wilson, Ph.D., is among the featured presenters at the Nebraska Research &amp; Innovation Conference&#039;s Oct. 13 Symposium on Biomechanics at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Thompson Alumni Center. The conference is free, but participants must register to attend (or present a poster), by Oct. 5. Dr. Wilson is scientific director of the Center for Magnetoencephalography (MEG) and an associate professor in the UNMC Department of Neurological Sciences and the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Faculty promotions announced<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University of Nebraska Board of Regents recently approved promotions for 28 College of Medicine faculty. They include six professors, 20 associate professors and two assistant professors. In addition, five faculty gained emeritus appointments.
