The UNMC Center for Patient, Family & Community Engagement in Chronic Care Management (CENTRIC) has announced a request for proposals for pilot grants. CENTRIC seeks to support innovative pilot projects related to enhancing self-management of chronic conditions. Submissions are due Nov. 21.<\/p>\n

CENTRIC was approved by the Board of Regents in March and opened in July. Funding from the UNMC College of Nursing, the Vice Chancellor for Research Office, and the Hearst Foundation was used to start the center. <\/p>\n

The purpose of the pilot grant is to support research in any area that will support patient, family and community engagement in management of chronic conditions. The award, which functions as a “seed grant,” is designed to lay the foundation for larger requests to funding sources external to the University of Nebraska. <\/p>\n

An interdisciplinary team should be used. The team should consist of a College of Nursing full-time faculty member as principal investigator or co-PI, and include members from two other departments\/colleges, in addition to a statistician. The focus of the research should be a highly significant topic and use technology and interventions. <\/p>\n

\nCENTRIC is looking for significant and innovative project ideas focused on self-management in chronic conditions. Interested applicants should contact the CENTRIC Scientific Advancement Committee co-chairs, Ann Berger, Ph.D.,<\/a> professor and associate dean in the College of Nursing, or Mohammed Siahpush Ph.D.<\/a>, professor and associate dean for research in the College of Public Health, to discuss project ideas.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
