To be considered, projects and educational grant requests must enhance the patient and family care experience or impact community health and have broad public appeal. Monies granted will be available for FY18 beginning July 1.<\/p>\n<p>To receive a project\/educational grant funding proposal form, which explains the criteria for projects\/grants and requests specific project\/grant information, email <a href=\"mailto:sfryers@nebraskamed.com\">Stephanie Fryers<\/a>, manager, Guest and Volunteer Services. Please submit your completed proposal no later than March 17.<\/p>\n<p>The Nebraska Medicine Guild provides service and support to promote the health and welfare of patients and their families across the Nebraska Medicine system. It welcomes the opportunity to continue funding projects that support the diverse needs of our patients and families.<\/p>\n<p>In FY17, 52 projects totaling $100,000 received funding. Some of the projects receiving funds included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Patient Communication Enhancement Project &#8211; Ambulatory Operations\n<li>Obesity Public Health Forum &#8211; Bariatric Center\n<li>Josh Dogs Program &#8211; Transplant Services\n<li>Home Away From Home for the Holidays &#8211; Child Life Services\n<li>Caring for Body and Soul &#8211; Spiritual Care\n<li>Thumb Prints on the Heart &#8211; Women&#8217;s Services\n<li>Teddy Bears for Kids &#8211; OR, ED, OP Surgery\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deadline for requests is March
