In celebration of the final Learn@Lunch, the UNMC Department of Human Resources and the Office of Public Health Practice have collaborated to bring nationally renowned speaker Natalie Burke to the UNMC campus. She will speak from noon to 1 p.m. March 16 in the Durham Research Center Auditorium.<\/p>\n

“After eight years, this will be our final Learn@Lunch,” said Diane Kortus, employee training and development specialist in the human resources department. “We are looking at other professional development opportunities, and we hope to announce our future plans later this summer.” <\/p>\n

Burke will lay the foundation for the common language that we need in order to understand our own experiences with privilege and oppression — and how we can take action to create change in the world. <\/p>\n

An advisor to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and co-director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Culture of Health Leaders Program, Burke focuses on the connective tissue that forms organizations (people and entities in relationship) and cultivates spaces to exchange ideas that create change.<\/p>\n

Lunch will be provided. Space is limited, so registration is required. To register, log into UNMC Employee Services<\/a> and click on the Education tab. Students may also register for this event by emailing employee relations<\/a>. <\/p>\n
