Beginning April 11, UNMC will launch a new seminar series in conjunction with the IDeA-CTR program to educate faculty, students and staff on the use of REDCap, an open-source tool for data capture developed at Vanderbilt University.<\/p>\n

REDCap is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. While REDCap can be used to collect virtually any type of data, it is specifically geared to support online or offline data capture for research studies and operations. REDCap is available to the UNMC community and IDeA-CTR members. <\/p>\n

REDCap can be used for surveys, service request forms and a multitude of other applications for the clinical, translational researcher. <\/p>\n

For its REDCap monthly training workshop, the UNMC Research Information Technology Office has developed a series of REDCap training modules. Monthly sessions will be 90 minutes long.<\/p>\n

Anyone is welcome to attend in person or via live stream<\/a>. Those attending in person need to bring a laptop.<\/p>\n

The first session – April 11 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Sorrell Center, Room 1005 – will be on REDCap basics. This session, led by Ashok Mudgapalli, Ph.D., provides an overview of the main features of REDCap and demonstration of a simple survey project. We also will discuss roles for project members, responsibilities of project owners, and support available from the UNMC Research Information Technology Office. Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices.<\/p>\n
