{"id":58771,"date":"2017-05-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-05-09T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2017\/05\/09\/caregivers-recognized-by-patients-for-going-above-and-beyond\/"},"modified":"2022-08-29T15:28:23","modified_gmt":"2022-08-29T20:28:23","slug":"caregivers-recognized-by-patients-for-going-above-and-beyond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/2017\/05\/09\/caregivers-recognized-by-patients-for-going-above-and-beyond\/","title":{"rendered":"Caregivers Recognized by Patients for Going Above and Beyond"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>We at UNMC\/Nebraska Medical Center are fortunate to have some very compassionate doctors and nurses.&nbsp; We would like to recognize those people when we hear that patients have recognized their outstanding care.&nbsp; However, in this newsletter, we do not want to single out the patients .<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deepak Singh, MD<\/strong>, assistant professor, Division of General Internal Medicine and hospitalist, Nebraska Medicine and Kimi Clark, case manager, Nebraska Medicine, were recognized by a patient for the enormous compassion they showed in working through some long-standing medical problems. With a previous provider, the problems had not been resolved. The two helped the patient find a new internist. The patient said she now feels like she has a team who cares about her getting whole again. Nebraska Medicine is now her facility of choice because of the care she has been given.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Timothy_McCashland_Gastroenterology_2014_CCrop.jpg\" Timothy McCashland, MD \" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption\">Timothy McCashland, MD<\/p>\n<p><strong>Timothy McCashland, MD<\/strong>, professor, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, was recognized by a patient&rsquo;s family for his extraordinary care of a long-term patient.<\/p>\n<p>GREAT WORK!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We would like to highlight the doctors and nurses who go above and beyond their duty when we hear that patients have recognized them for their outstanding care.
