Award nominations are open for three awards to be presented at the Premier Education Banquet, which will be held from noon-2 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Truhlsen Event Center. Nominations for awards will be accepted through June 30. <\/p>\n

\nThe event bridges institutions, colleges and departments to discuss academic activities that help define UNMC and Nebraska Medicine as a premier educational institution in support of our mission and strategic plan. <\/p>\n

The Premier Education Banquet is co-sponsored by the UNMC Interprofessional Academy of Educators, the UNMC Office of Faculty Development, and the Nebraska Medicine Office of Health Professions Education. Every year, each of the sponsoring areas honors premier faculty and staff for their inspiring work. Awardees are recognized at the annual Premier Education Banquet. <\/p>\n

The awards include:<\/p>\n

Catalyst for Education Award<\/b>
\nThe Interprofessional Academy of Educators recognizes the integral role played by those serving in educational support positions. These individuals are invaluable team members and vital to furthering the educational mission at UNMC, promoting a premier environment and ensuring the success of all trainees. This award will be given to a staff member serving in an educational support role who models the ITEACH values<\/a>.
\nEligibility:<\/b> All full-time UNMC staff members with one or more years of service, whose primary responsibility is to provide educational support (coordinator, administrative associate, office associate, instructional technologist\/designer, etc.)

Visionary Educational Leader Award<\/b>
\nThe Office of Faculty Development recognizes the essential role of visionary educational leaders at UNMC. This award recognizes individuals who are actively championing our ITEACH values<\/a> to lead UNMC’s premier education mission, now and into the future.
